FAQ
What is Pilot Script Lab?
This is a live, online course designed to guide writers from concept to the first draft of their original TV pilot script with live feedback.
Who is this course for?
Most of our writing cohorts have a mixture of emerging writers and established professionals.
What do I need to bring to the course?
You'll need a compelling concept for your TV series. No outline is needed as we will develop your story with during our group Story Sessions.
Are there writing deadlines?
You must have your script submitted by the scheduled deadline. If you miss the deadline your script will not be read. In the interest of fairness to all the writers, there will be no extensions given. We absolutely will not issue refunds in the event you fail to meet the deadline. Don't enroll if you don't think you can make the deadline.
Is there a money back guarantee?
Certainly! You have 14 days from the start of your course to request a refund by email. Nobody has requested one to date, but I will happily provide refunds within the 14 day period if you don't think this is for you.
Is there time off for writing?
Yes, you have two weeks off to write your script. During that time we will still meet for Q & A at the normal time to discuss any problems that might have come up while you're writing.
How many writers are in the course?
The course is limited to a maximum of 9 writers.
What kind of feedback will I receive?
You'll receive extensive feedback from both peers and myself in dedicated feedback sessions.
Do I need professional screenwriting software?
We highly recommend Final Draft, Fade In, or Movie Magic Screenwriter. But if you're looking for a free option, we recommend Writer Duet.
Can I get extra help outside of class?
Of course. For an additional fee, you can schedule a 60-minute session with me. Most students don't need it, but it's there if you do.
Wait, what if I have more questions?
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to shoot us an email at help@screenright.net.
